Wasat Institute works with local and federal policymakers and civic institutions to construct and aid in the secure passage of health related policies beneficial to faith-based communities. We focus on the intersection of faith traditions and public health to enhance the inclusion of spirituality in public health research, practice and policy making. We provide spirituality based resources to support policymaking around the opioid epidemic, further COVID-19 education amongst faith-based communities, and ensure that spiritual care is included in policies that focus on end-of-life care. We believe that spirituality has a strong and beneficial role to play in public health outcomes both physical health and mental health. Wasat Institute seeks to ensure that policymakers have access to the data they need in order to allow for this benefit.
